SUMMER WALKS PROGRAMME 2008

All on Friday evenings meet at 7pm
We will aim to meet up at a pub afterwards at approx 9pm

23rd May - Moore Copse and afterwards at the Greyhound in Tidmarsh
Directions take A340 from Pangbourne towards Theale and not long after Tidmarsh just before the motorway bridge there is a little turning left with small car park, cross over track and go though gate and fork right to pick up the river Pang.

30th May - Aldermaston Wharf and afterwards at the Butt Inn
We will meet in the wharf car park, the older ones can walk Eastwards along the canal or the more energetic may go over the swing bridge and turn into Mill Lane to find the circular walk.

6th June - Aldworth / the ridgeway and afterwards at the Bell
We suggest we meet up in the track near the church, we can then take our cars a little way up to the Ridgeway before walking

13th June - Silchester Common and afterwards at the Pelican in Pamber Heath
Meet in the roadside car park at the end of Impstone Road, phone John for directions.

20th June - Hambledon Village
Name of pub and car park arrangements to be notified.

27th June - BBQ at John and Mariannes all welcome to what has become an annual event, If you wish to walk in the woods opposite then turn up at 7pm, if just coming for the BBQ then 8pm will be fine

4th July - Combe Gibbet near Inkpen
This is probably our furthest venture so it could be discussed at the BBQ the previous week, if the weathers good it good prove a good venue.

11th July - Marsh Lock near Henley
Park in Field near to lock, we will walk over wooden bridge and back, then the towpath towards Henley, Pub will advised in due course.

18th July - Sulham Village and afterwards at the Cross Keys Pangbourne
Meet near church, we will walk the track at the side of the church, although you may wish to take pictures of some of the nearby houses etc.

25th July - Hosehill Nature Reserve at Theale and afterwards at the Fox and Hounds. We will ask if we can park in the pub car park. We will walk in an anti clockwise direction and hopefully complete the entire walk round the lake.

1st August - Reading Lock and Weir we will decide on a pub on the night.
Park in Kings Meadow car park and walk towards the weir/ lock and then eastwards along the river Thames.

8th August - A social evening at a pub which will be decided at an earlier evening.
On this evening we will meet between 7.30 and 8.0pm, we could even have a bar snack if enough were in favour.

Note, friends and partners will always be welcome on any of the walks
