South Reading 145 3rd Andover 151 2nd Hungerford 157.5 1st Add Comment Woolston camera club in Southampton was the venue for the first leg of this season SPF, PDI league. There were 56 images submitted, making it a hard task for the judge due to the quality of entries. 8 images from SRCC were shown together with the same amount of entries from Burghfield, Haslemere, Overton, Steyning, Wimbourne and host Woolston camera clubs. Judge Leo Rich ARPS EFIAP DPAGB APAGB quickly got to task not even stopping for a break to tackle all 56 entries. Scoring and comments were as per club pdi competitions though the marks were out of TEN not twenty and half marks could also be awarded, with 6 other clubs in the league the highest marks on the night gets 7 points for the league table, the second 6 and so on. So to the results. The average team score for the night was 65.5 out of a possible 70 marks The average individual score through ALL images was 8 out of a possible 10 marks. SRCC average individual score was 8 keeping in trend. SRCC actual score fell 2.5 marks below the average team marks SCORES 1. OVERTON CC 69PTS 1= STEYNING CC 69PTS 3. WINBOURN CC 67.5PTS 4. An evening not to be missed Again there were over 60 entries for a print competition, giving judge Roy Shadrake LRPS a tough job on his first visit to South Reading Camera Club. Roy was faced with some quality images and had to be tough on some images as the standard was high, but this does show the depth of quality within the club, which is good news all round. It’s always hard on a with a set subject; ‘have I interpreted the title correctly’ and ‘Will the judge know what and why I’m taking the image’ are questions that would have come into all our minds. However, the majority of members did not fall into the trap. Well done to all placed members. The full list of scores is available to view.
